Reasons why Malaysia is a good travelling destination

Assalamualaikum w.b.t. I've always tell my team that we will travel all around Malaysia first, before we start to travel overseas. Many has been asking why, despite the fact that most Malaysians were spending their week-long holidays in Korea, Japan and Europe. Long way from home, I figured, I prefer to, actually, enjoy the view in Malaysia, that is actually quite similar to the one belongs in overseas. Nevertheless, I will eventually travel overseas. As the idiom goes; 

EYES OPENED WIDE, HEART OPENED WIDER, MIND GOT WISER.

Oh, well. There are so many properties for sale in Malaysia, such as Tropicana the Residence. Some people buy property for own stay, and some buy it for investment purpose and make it into an Airbnb for travelers that visit Malaysia. To be honest, I do think Malaysia is one of the most underrated traveling destinations in the world. Well, this article will tell you the reasons why Malaysia is a good travelling destination worth a visit. 

Beautiful islands and stunning beaches

While Thailand and Indonesia are famous for their beautiful beaches, Malaysia has our own beautiful beaches as well. The eastern and western coastlines in Malaysia remain hidden. Those who enjoy sun tanning should check out The Perhentian beach and Borneo Islands where you can enjoy various water activities such as, snorkeling, kayaking, diving, and other water sports. 

The Perhentian beach is well known for their white sand. At night, you can also enjoy the lighting bonfires and crystal clear constellations. Langkawi is also well known for its beautiful beaches, duty free shopping and dining. It is an ultimate spot for a short beach vacation. 

Kg Mukut, Pulau Tioman

As for Redang beach, you might be able to spot some cute sea turtles swimming right next you. Redang beach is a beach where the turtles lay eggs on the beach. It is a much quieter beach as compared to The Perhentian or Langkawi, but it is definitely the right place for you to relax. Good for those who need a few days break from the busy city life. 

If diving is what you are looking for, do visit the Sipadan beach in Borneo, known as one of the best diving sites in the world. At Sipadan beach, you get to see things like sharks, turtles, barracudas, parrotfish and so much more. 

Interesting culture and history

Malaysia is made up of different races, where Malays make up around half the population, followed by Chinese where they make up approximately one quarter of the population, followed by the Indian community. Not forgetting the Orang Asli, also known as the indigenous in Sabah and Sarawak, where they make up around 12% of the population in Malaysia. There are many Asian ethnicity settled in Malaysia over centuries, where Islam is the official religion of Malaysia. Although Islam is the official religion in Malaysia, Christianity and Buddhism are also practiced in Malaysia. Those who are interested in religions can visit the Malacca Straits Mosque in Malacca, beautiful Batu Caves Temples, or the Catholic Memorial Pilgrimage Center in Mount Sungai Sarawak.

Although Malaysia is made up of different races with different cultures and religions, Malaysia is still a harmonious country with all races celebrating different festive season together as one. No racism, just love. This is what gives Malaysia the vibrant culture and beautiful heritage that attracts many people to choose Malaysia as a travelling destination. 

Amazing nature and wildlife

Malaysia has one of the oldest tropical jungles the world. The magnificent rainforest trek in Borneo, containing Sarawak and Sabah will be a good trekking trail for those who enjoy jungle trekking.

Air Terjun Kg Asah, Pulau Tioman

For those who love to visit the caves, you can also head down to Gunung Mulu National Park, located on the island of Borneo – Miri. The Gunung Mulu cave has a history of more than 3000 years, and is popular for the incredible caverns. You could also explore the Turtle cave, known as the Wind Caves with guided tours. You might need to bring your own flashlights and insect repellents when you make a visit. If you are visiting Kuala Lumpur, you could make a day trip to Batu Caves, where it is made from limestone and offer some challenging hikes.

What is the first thing that comes to your mind when you think Malaysia wildlife? Yes Orang Utans. Take a trip down to Sarawak’s Semenggoh Nature Reserve to see the amazing Orang Utans if you are interested in animals. You might be able to spot some Tapirs, wild boars, deers and monkeys. You could also take a trip to Taman Negara National Park to spot some wildlife, such as elephants, tigers, rhinoceros and so on. 

Delicious food 

As Malaysia is a multiracial country, finding food from different races is definitely not difficult. There is different food for you to choose from, ranging from the famous Nasi Lemak, to Char Kueh Tiao, to Roti Canai and so on so forth. The list will only get longer as there really is that much food for you to choose from. You will also be amazed at the different versions of Laksa you can find from different states in Malaysia. Coming to Malaysia will surely never leave you hungry.

In conclusion, Malaysia definitely makes one of the best travelling destinations in the world. Malaysia is a multiracial country with people of different races, different cultures and different religions. Malaysia is definitely a harmonious country that is worth a visit.
